Using Reiki Symbols

I'm going to get a tattoo in a couple of weeks and I found reiki symbols, "Om" and "Shanti" I like a lot but not sure if it's good or bad to effectively use these symbols and / or have tattooed on my body so I wonder what is more or less "who, what, where, when, why and how" of these symbols. For example, "using these symbols?" "What exactly are they good for?" "Where are they used?" ETC. . Ect. . I just want to make sure you get these symbols tattooed is a good idea before you get them, and where they come from? These arent my first tattoo, I have others. Doesn't the "Om" symbol means that God and creation. Well, here's your answer. Both OM (yes, praise, or union) and Shanti (inner peace) are Sanskrit words. Before getting a permanent ink on your skin could be a good idea to do any real research on the full symbolism of words. Tattoos are forever.

Om Shanti and are not related to Reiki and Reiki symbols are not. What I really mean is very compleja.Om is generally considered a symbol of Hinduism. From the Wikipedia entry about it, "both for Hindus and Buddhists this syllable is sacred and so laden with spiritual energy that can only be pronounced with complete concentration." Om is often hummed while meditating to connect meditator with the divine. Personally, I think of it as a symbol of the divine source and that is a form of bendicin.Adems Wikipedia, Shanti means "peace of mind."
